The General Register Office (GRO) successfully conducted a comprehensive staff training session focused on General Register Procedures at the Police Training Building, Eve Leari,e on October 22. The training brought together supervisors and administrative personnel involved in the registration of vital events—births, deaths, marriages, and adoptions—aimed at strengthening service delivery and procedural accuracy across the system.
The session covered key areas such as:

Proper documentation and verification processes

Updates to registration protocols in accordance with the Birth & Registration Act of 2021

Customer service standards and ethical handling of sensitive information

Updates to our online process as well as procedural changes to the Late Registration and Name Change Process.
Facilitated by the Registrar General Mr. Raymon Cummings, the training was highly interactive and included practical exercises, case studies, and group discussions to reinforce learning outcomes. This initiative forms part of the Office’s ongoing commitment to capacity building and ensuring that all departments are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out their duties efficiently and in compliance with established legal frameworks.
